Day 1
Muscat-Sinkhole-Fins Beach-Wadi Shab-Sur-Ras Al Hadd

In the morning, the tour departs from Muscat towards **Ras Al Hadd**. Our first stop is **Bimmah Sinkhole** (swimming in the Sinkhole is possible), a water-filled depression that’s structurally a sinkhole within the limestone of eastern Muscat Governorate. This lake of turquoise waters is 50m by 70m wide and approximately 20m deep, located just 600m from the sea, nestled between the coastal towns of Dibab and Bimmah Village. The sinkhole formed from a surface layer collapse due to underlying limestone dissolution. To preserve this natural wonder, the local municipality developed a park around it.

From the Sinkhole, we’ll make a stop at **Fins Beach**, also known as “white sands beach.” It offers a striking panorama of pure white sands and an intriguingly pebbly shore, complemented by sparkling turquoise waters and a soft, cool breeze.

**Next**, from Fins Beach, we’ll drive towards **Wadi Shab**. This Wadi is an enormous canyon gorge, beautifully lined with palm trees and bearing impressive indications of nature’s power from mountain water. After a 35 to 40-minute hike up through the canyon (walking shoes are required), we’ll reach one of the crystal-clear water pools where tourists can swim through the warm waters from pool to pool. **Eventually**, we’ll arrive at the last pool, where an opening among the enormous rocks allows us to swim into an incredible crevice cave featuring a small waterfall inside. Here, sunlight filters in from the outside, transforming the water into a beautiful turquoise blue, while water cascades down one side of the cave from the Wadi beyond.

**Following this adventure**, we’ll continue our trip to the city of **Sur**, renowned for its Arabian Dhow Factory. Here, you can witness traditional wooden Dhows being built. We’ll also visit the old part of Sur, where many houses showcase designs with classic wooden doors and windows.

The tour then proceeds to **Ras Al Hadd**, where we’ll check into our hotel/resort for the night. In the evening, after a delightful buffet dinner, we’ll take you to the **Turtle Sanctuary at Ras Al Jinz**. There, we’ll embark on a guided, beautiful walking tour on the beach at night under the stars. We have a high chance of seeing Oman’s magnificent sea turtles making their way onto the beach to build nests and lay eggs. **If you’re lucky**, you might even witness baby turtles hatching from some nests.

Day 2 Ras Al Hadd-Wadi Bani Khalid-Wahiba Sands

In the morning, we’ll start our trip to **Wadi Bani Khalid**, recognized as one of the biggest and most beautiful Wadis in Oman. After reaching Wadi Bani Khalid, just a short walk of approximately 10 minutes will lead you to sparkling, blue, crystal-clear water pools, some reaching 9 meters in depth. Here, you can swim, sunbathe, and simply relax within the beautiful scenic Wadi canyons.

**In the afternoon**, we’ll continue our journey to our desert camp in the **Wahiba Sands** desert. This spectacular desert spans an area of 12,500 square kilometers, also known as Al Sharqiya Sands. Formerly referred to as “The Wahiba Sands,” this region of Oman’s desert is named after the Bani Wahiba tribe. It’s divided between the northern and southern Governorates in the Eastern Region, defined by a boundary of 180 km (110 mi) north to south and 80 km (50 mi) east to west. You can choose to relax at the camp or take part in an adventurous 4×4 drive in the dunes with our experienced guide. **Afterward**, we’ll watch the stunning desert sunset from one of the large dunes, concluding the day with dinner at the camp.

Overnight in the desert (Safari Desert Camp or Similar)

Day 3 Wahiba Sands- Al Mudhaireb-Ibra-Zukait Tower Tombs-Birkat Al Moz-Nizwa

In the morning, we’ll drive to **Al Mudhaireb village**. You can walk a bit uphill, which will bring you to the ruins of the old village of Al Mudhaireb. These ruins are quite interesting to explore. **Furthermore**, if you continue uphill, you’ll discover one of Al Mudhaireb’s many watchtowers. The view from this watchtower is quite remarkable, and once there, you’ll notice about half a dozen other watchtowers scattered across Al Mudharreb.

**Historically**, each quarter of the village maintained its own watchtower to warn residents of attacks from other villages or quarters. **Consequently**, there would have been an old quarter situated beneath or near each of these watchtowers. **From there**, we’ll continue our journey to **Ibra**, where we’ll visit the old part of the town, which dates back almost 1000 years and was built from mud and limestone. You can stroll around the village; it’s not entirely abandoned, as some people still reside there.

**Later**, on the way near Nizwa, in the village of **Zukait**, we’ll stop at the cylindrical tombs that date back to the third millennium BC. These tombs, located on a hilltop in the Al Dakhiliyah region, are constructed from stacked mountain rock, creating a distinctive beehive shape. **From there**, we’ll proceed to **Birkat Al Moz**. This village boasts a large Falaj system that supplies water to numerous date palm plantations and vegetable orchards. It’s a UNESCO-listed site, so it’s definitely worth spending some time walking around and exploring the old part of the village.

**Finally**, we’ll continue our trip to the old capital city of Oman, **Nizwa**, arriving in the late afternoon. After checking into the hotel, you’ll have free leisure time for the rest of the day.

Overnight in Nizwa (Al Diyar Hotel or Similar)

Day 4 Nizwa- Misfath Al Abreen- Al Hamra- Grand Canyon

Today, we’ll visit the famous **Nizwa Market (Souq)**, where a wide variety of vendors offer their goods in the bustling streets. Here, you can find vegetables, dates, pottery, jewelry, handicrafts, Omani sweets (Halawa), spices, and souvenirs, all sold in authentic old market halls—a rarity in many places. **Particularly interesting** is the Friday cattle market, when locals from nearby villages gather to sell their goats, cattle, sheep, and chickens in a vibrant, circus-style open marketplace.

**Adjacent to the Souq** is **Nizwa Fortress**. The Fort, now a museum, offers splendid views of this ancient town and the surrounding mountains. You can stroll around this impressive Fortress, exploring its many rooms, passages, and towers. The Fort stands as an architectural testimony to the economic and military achievements of the early Yaruba dynasty from the mid-17th century. It was designed as a military stronghold, built to withstand even the strongest attacks of its time. **Indeed**, even along its corridors, many traps were strategically laid to deter any intruders who might have penetrated the defenses.

**From Nizwa**, we’ll drive to **Misfat al Abreyeen**. This picturesque village nestles on a steep slope at the foot of Jebel Shams and is characterized by its old homes and narrow streets. It boasts a falaj system that irrigates numerous orchards, date palms, and vegetable gardens, making it well worth spending some time walking around the village.

**Afterward**, we’ll visit the ancient village of **Al Hamra**. From Al Hamra, we’ll drive up to **Jebel Shams Mountain**, famously known as “The Grand Canyon of Oman.” This mountain road ascends to an altitude of 3009 meters, making it one of the most adventurous mountains in Oman. It offers an exhilarating off-road experience and absolutely fantastic views. We’ll reach the canyon view point at 2000 meters, where we’ll stop to soak in the scenery and take photos. **Finally**, a short drive will take us to our resort where you’ll spend the night.

Overnight in Jabal Shams (Sama Heights Resort or Similar)

Day 5 Grand Canyon-Wadi Bani Awf- Balad Sayt- Snake Canyon-Nakhal Fort-Muscat

In the morning, we’ll drive down the mountain on the other side (east) into **Wadi Bani Awf**. This mountain road offers an exciting off-road experience with fantastic views into dramatic canyons and Wadis, as it winds down several kilometers before connecting with Wadi Bani Awf. We’ll pass several villages along the way, **with the most beautiful being** **Balad Sayt**, which is completely surrounded by mountains. **Once we reach the valley (Wadi Bani Awf)**, we’ll also pass by impressive Wadi Canyons, including the famous **Snake Canyon**. The road will lead us through the Wadi, passing numerous small villages.

**From there**, we’ll continue our journey to **Nakhal**. Here, you can visit the beautiful **Nakhal Fortress**, which lies at the foothills of the mountains in a charming small town known for its extensive date palm plantations. This magnificent 1500-year-old fortress rises majestically out of the mountain rock, towering high above the ancient village as if still warning potential attackers of its ominous strength. It has witnessed many battles and is packed full of hidden escape routes and secret passages. You can stroll around inside this beautifully restored fortress and explore all its rooms, which have been nicely decorated in the original old style. The view from the top of the fortress, overlooking the mountains and lush green date plantations, is truly outstanding.
**Finally**, from Nakhal, we’ll drive back to Muscat, concluding our tour.
